This wall mounted folded metal sculpture is mounted to the mixed use Strata Symphony building in Allentown, PA. The piece takes its form and perforated pattern from an art deco theater drape that was used in the adjacent Miller Symphony Hall in the 1920s. Famous as one of the leading burlesque halls in the United States, the theater (formerly known as The Lyric) has weathered tremendous changes in both the city around it and the types of productions it hosts.
This metal curtain pays respect to that history and freezes an otherwise flowing organic form into a angular modular pattern.
